CrowdStar, Happy Pets giving away iPods, spread the word (literally)

Remember way back when CrowdStar gave away a few iPads to Happy Pets players? Well, the Apple love affair continues with the company's new iPod Nano Giveaway. All you need to do between now and Nov. 11 is get as many of your friends as possible to join the pet care game on Facebook.

The five players who reign in the most new players will get the new iPod Nano; you know, the one with the motion sensor, full color multi-touch screen and built-in FM radio? Yeah, that one. While it might not be as widely useful as an iPad, it'll definitely impress when you whip out a full-featured iPod Nano not much bigger than a quarter. Hey, keep participating and who knows what CrowdStar might hand out next (MacBooks anyone?). Check the promo banner in-game for more information and good luck convincing your hater friends to at least try out the game. (Hint: no one ever said that they had to play the game.)

Treasure Isle Thanksgiving Holiday Sweepstakes: Win a trip to Hawaii

For Treasure Isle players, Thanksgiving probably screams, "trip to a beautiful island." Luckily for you, Zynga read your minds and decided that would be the perfect grand prize for its Thanksgiving Holiday Sweepstakes--more specifically a trip to Hawaii for two. For five days and four nights, you and a friend could enjoy the wonders of Hawaii on Zynga's dime. While we doubt you'll find much buried treasure, it'll still be on helluva time. Besides, you probably don't want to try and bring a shovel, machete or lava mangoes on a plane these days.

To qualify, you'll first need to--gasp--register your e-mail address with Zynga through Treasure Isle. Though according to the official rules, you can enter via snail mail as well. After signing over your life over to spam (kidding, it's really not that bad), you'll need to complete all of the recent Thanksgiving quests and complete the Banquet Table. On top of that, you'll also need to finish the Ziggurat Relic. Once you've completed each task, it seems that you'll be automatically considered for the random drawing on Dec. 10. For the surprisingly lucky runners up, 10 contestants will win an iPad while another 100 will score a free t-shirt.

While the random drawing will take place on Dec. 10, you only have until Nov. 30 at midnight to finish the requirements and register your e-mail address with Treasure Isle. Those are some pretty daunting tasks, so you better get work ASAP if you want a chance at escaping this expectantly frigid winter for a little while. Though, an iPad wouldn't hurt either.

Pocket God to dominate Facebook thanks to Frima Studio

Soon enough, you'll be able to dominate hapless island villagers both at the desk and on the go. The hit iPhone game Pocket God will soon be on Facebook through Quebec-based Frima Studio's efforts later this fall. (I hope Frima knows that fall is nearly over.) Original developed by Bolt Creative in San Francisco, Pocket God instills the power of a god into players, allowing them to do nearly whatever they please to a growing group of island pygmies.

On Facebook, however, a breadth of social features and episodic content has been promised by Frima Studio. Not to mention that "a host of hilarious ways to both dispose of and resurrect the immortal pygmies of each island" will be added to the Facebook game, according to Frima Studio.

Steve Couture, CEO of Frima Studio, says, "Everything fans have grown to love about this game and its characters has been happily fed to the sharks and tossed into the volcano, only to be resurrected onto Facebook in a way that fans are truly going to love." Pocket God will enter a closed beta phase later this year, according to Frima Studio, with access granted only to the game's "rabid fanbase." Players interested in playing god on Facebook early can soon find out how over on the Pocket God Blog.

CityVille Hometown is here, your miniature mobile metropolis awaits

Well, it's about time. After going live on the Canadian App Store weeks ago, CityVille Hometown is finally here in the US and globally for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

The game marks a list of firsts for Zynga in that it's the company's first game to release on all iOS platforms simultaneously, not to mention its first mobile game to release in five languages.

The game allows players to import their existing Facebook and CityVille friends into a new, but separate mobile experience in the franchise. (Note: This is not a mobile extension of your CityVille web game, but a brand new one.)

However, the game will allow CityVille Hometown players to exchange gifts and resources to one another to lend a helping hand. And don't worry, you can visit their towns, too. For lucky iPhone 4 users out there, the game has fancy Retina Display graphics to boot. See for yourself in the trailer below.
